We went to Turkey, Greece and Egypt for 13 days in May 1999. Each year, the weather of the mediterranean begins to become favorable starting from the month of May. The rainy months have ended by then. It is mostly sunny but yet not too hot. However it is a low season for Hong Kong tours because most people join tours in the Easter holidays instead of in May. We had quite some difficulties in finding a tour package that is not canceled on D-7 (tourist agent can only cancel tours not less than 7 days before it starts, so every tour ends up being cancelled on that day).
Once we get there, it was sunny and hot, with the temperature soaring above 40oC in Luxor. Yet when we are back in Hong Kong, we discovered that the 30oC in Hong Kong is much hotter and less tolerable...
